5 Guards Killed in Tajikistan Prison Break

On August 23, 2010 two dozen prisoners at a Tajikistan prison escaped killing five guards in the process. The twenty five prisoners to escape were militants of Russia’s North Cacuasus region and members of the Islamic movement of Uzbekistan, which has links to the Taliban groups of Afganistan. Many of these people were imprisoned for attempting to overthrow the government. The prisoners escaped by overpowering the guards late Sunday night. They were said to have taken advantage of one of the guards “negligence” and seized one part of the detention facility. During the escape the prisoners initially killed a 31 year old man, and severely beat another man. Then they changed into camofluaged uniforms and fled the prison with stolen weapons. A few hours later the escapees attacked another detention facility killing four more guards. A special team of law enforcement officials have been sent out to find the prisoners.

I think the prison that the prisoners escaped from should have better security. Twenty five prisoners should not have been able to flee the prison.

Why would they not have better support with these prisoners , especially militants of Russia ? Too me thats just plain stupid. Sucks for the 5 Guards who were killed for doing there job. . .

That sucks how did they let that many prisoners escape? The people who work at the prison should take their jobs more seriously so this won't happen again. If some of the gaurds had paid attention this probably never would have hapened. That's too bad about the five gaurds who died
