Iran: Woman's stoning sentence on hold
Ms. Ashtiani was convicted of adultery in 2006 and was sentence to death for stoning (having stones thrown at them repetatedly). There have been many reports about the charge Ashtiani, which relates to her husbands death. Ashtiani knew about the plot to kill her husband, but didn't follow throught at the time being , she says " I didn't take it seriously". Her husband's cousin was in jail with Ashtiani at the time and fooled her with his words and told her that they needed to kill her husband. He told her that her husband treated her badly and that he will take care of her. She says " When her husbands mother was at there house she went to get her medicine, she saw her husbands cousin with tools that he had bought including electric tools, gloves and wires. Then he killed her husband by connecting him to the electicty with the electric wires." Iran has put the holding stone sentence on Ashtiani on hold
