Samoa
On September 29, 2009 a magnitude 8.0 hit Samoa , and some places in Tonga. It killed about 100 people. Scientist were puzzled because they didn't understand how such a large earthquake could hit such a small country. The earthquake pushed up the seafloor , which could have causes a tsunami. It took about 5 months for the scienctist to figure out what was going on .
