NY Times Summary

On Thursday the court convicted a musician of causing bodily-harm to her ex-boyfriend by having unprotected sex with him even though she knew she was infected with H.I.V. which causes AIDS. Nadja Benaissa is 28 and a singer, she performed with the band No Angels. She avoided prison by receiving a two year suspended sentence for showing deep remorse through out the trial in Darmstadt. Her ex-boyfriend informed them that she infected him during a brief relationship in 2004. In 1988 a german court made it a crime for a person to have sex with a partner while aware of having these conditions. If you do, you could face up to ten years in prison and courts in Germany have handed out lengthy terms.
