Australia makes world history

Australia is known for its individuality and parliamentary government system. This country has managed to avoid recession for the past 20 years. In July 2010, unemployment was an estimated 5.3 percent, of which is about half the percentage and rate of the United States. Currently, the country’s Labor party is fighting for survival in the most recent election on August 21, 2010. Australia is being dominated by the concerns of the immigration policy. A hung Parliament may be necessary. This hung Parliament will be the first time in 70 years. The highly renounced Kevin Rudd was ousted by the Prime Minister Mr. Gillard in 2010. Now, Prime Minister Julia Gillard is in power of the Labor party and is also the head of state. This remarkable decline holds some of the highest approvals in world history. Cayla McCurdy
