Art Theft Underworld Frustrates France

There has been a series of art thefts in Europe over the past year. Over 20 highly priced paintings by famous artists including Pablo Picasso have been stolen. The biggest of these crimes took place last may when two art pieces were stolen from a granddaughter of Pablo Picasso. The two works were worth a combined total of $227 million dollars. 5 pieces were also stolen from the Paris Museum of Modern Art by making a molded copy of a security key and entering through the only window in the whole museum that wasn’t covered by a camera. The country is baffled by these thieves and the thefts have aroused many questions, such as: Where are they selling these recocgnizable paintings? And When will it stop? These recent events have definately galvanized museums into improving their security systems and many French museums are rethinking their security strategies. I think that Pablo Picasso's granddaughter should hire some bodyguards, or maybe think about putting an alarm in her apartment...

Art is one the things that should be left alone!
Not that I promote stealing, but if one were to steal, steal money, or something else that would be replaced easily.
Art is a representation of the world and it's development. You can't replace pablo picasso.
Art must be preserved, it's our culture.
Culture and beautiful artworks can't simply be replaced. It wouldn't be the same.
Even if the paintings stolen were duplicated, a piece of the originality and memory would be damaged.
If you steal an iPod it can be replaced.
Art runs deeper than material items, it has more meaning..

France is a really famous place of art and the art showed there are always valuable. Art is a thing that artist created for showing people that what is art and what they are feeling. I think the artists also want all the people can enjoy the art that they did. People that stole art is really selfish and don't take about what the artist will feel for this.
