Imperialism

China had began to create a loose alliance with the countries Brazil, Russia, India and China. China had just invited South Africa to join this alliance that had many people puzzled. These countries put together work to attain a higher growth, employment, etc. Some people believe that this is a positive way to have a better economy in the world, but others do not. According to Goldman Sachs, India and China will have the best economy in all of the world around as early of 2030. Since these countries make up half of the world's population, this means that there will be a large amount of resources needed. China did not invite smaller countries such as South Korea or Mexico to join this alliance (even though they have a quick growing economy) because they will have a little effect on decisions made with the BRIC alliance. This may seem like a friendly opportunity that China has started, but it has been made clear that it is imperialism.
This relates to imperialism because it shows the need for more resources. Since Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are large countries that are heavily populated, they will need an excess amount of resources. Every single day, 200,000 acres of rain forest is cut down and there is only 20% of the world's rain forests left. Sooner or later the rain forests will be all demolished and no longer provide for companies. This may look like these countries' economies will better, but people believe this will only benefit China leaving these countries with nothing.
