Strange Environments with Non-Strangers

I had wanted to make sure that my first interview was as pain-free as possible, so as to make sure I wasn't put off by the idea of the rest of the I-Search project. I decided to ask Mr. Drage for an interview, and he easily accepted. The interview went smoothly, but with time restraints, it had to be done in two parts. My only issues were with starting and ending each part of the interview, though the questions themselves were simple enough for me. During the second part of the interview, once I had run out of questions, he had continued talking while I sat and listened until I had to leave. Parting was awkward, but I think he understood by the way that he smiled (though I'll never be sure). If one is in a healthy mindset, and does not allow oneself to become stressed, these interviews become much less frightening and the I-Search project as a whole seems that much more possible.

You are exactly right. I totally agree with this, students who are nervous or frightened wont likely do a good interview. You have to be calm and relaxed in order to do a successful interview, and if your still really nervous you should imagine your talking to a friend or to a family member that will also help a lot. Good Post Auriana and good luck with the rest of the i-search project.
